Jack arrived at 38 weeks on November 5th, 2013! He is a huge boy, full of snuggles, and smiles… he is 9 months tomorrow, and weighs almost 30 lbs. He loves to play with his sisters, loves his veggies and is standing on his own (almost ready to walk).
Although summer is coming to an end, we are excited for Jack David to arrive this fall. Addie Kate will attend 1/2 day preschool 3x a week, and Jada Reese 1/2 day 5x a week at the local Montessori School. They are enjoying dance (tap and ballet), swim lessons, gymnastics (summer only), playgroup, and learning to ride their new bikes! Jack is growing and doing well at 27 weeks gestation now. I’ve had a ride of complications this pregnancy, but we are hopeful that he will stay put for several more weeks. I will have more time to post this fall with updates on the family…
We are excited to announce Jack David Alter is due Nov. 13, 2014. It’s likely that he will arrive when the cerclage is removed at 36 weeks in October. The girls are so excited…
Addie Kate is almost 1 year old! This is a photo from music class. She claps and sways while listening to her music teacher. She is almost 21 lbs and wearing 18 month old clothes… she loves to play with our dogs, walk with the walker, and take a bath.
We are moving in a couple weeks to a house closer to downtown, and we can’t wait to have a yard for the dogs and girls to play outside. It’s a lot of work to move with kids, but we can see the end… more updates with photos from their birthday parties soon.
Jada Reese is almost 3 years old! She just finished gymnastics and is beginning dance (tap and ballet). She’s doing great, although acts very shy at first. JR loves playing house, riding horses, Bearinstein Bears… she is about 26 lbs and is almost jumping with 2 feet! She knows about 1/2 the alphabet and loves to count!
We celebrate 7 years of marriage tomorrow, March 12th. Below are a few photos from 7 years ago! Although life has presented it’s obvious challenges, God has blessed us with 2 beautiful children, healthy marriage, and an abundant love for our family.
Addie Kate is over 19 lbs at 8 months. She’s days away from crawling. She rolls herself across the room, so with her activity level… I know she will begin to crawl within the month.
Jada Reese is almost 26 lbs at 2.5 yrs old. Jada Reese’s surgery of implanting ear tubes was a huge success. I wish we did it almost a year ago. She is communicating 100x better and her vocabulary and pronunciation took off this week. I honestly think she wasn’t hearing clearly until we did the tubes. The things you learn with your first child!
Jada Reese- 2.5 yrs old now… She truly has a heart of gold! Jada Reese loves to please others, cleans up her messes, introduces her “baby” to new surroundings, and says prayers throughout her day. She is 100% potty trained; praise the Lord! She loves being a big sister and often looks out for Addie Kate. Due to all of the ear infections the past 2 months, JR will get tubes in her ears on Monday. She has started speech the last couple months, 2 days a week with a private therapist. Because she is a micro-preemie, she has weak cheeks, her jaw and tongue don’t work in sync as well as they can… so, we are working on activities to strengthen it. Some of those include, blowing bubbles, using a loopy straw for water, and blowing on a horn. I’m already seeing improvement, and she will be right on track in no time. JR is in size 2T…
Addie Kate- 7.5 months now… Everyone calls her the “Gerber Baby.” She has such a fun personality. She loves her big sister and often reaches to hold her hand. She smiles and interacts with our dogs, and she is a fabulous eater (just like her daddy). She sits up, scoots on her back, and loves to make raspberries with her tongue. She has become a little momma’s girl, and she doesn’t want to be out of my sight. She sleeps through the night, gets 3 full meals, 3-4 nursing, and an 8 oz bottle each day! She is also struggling with her first ear infection. She’s on her 3rd antibiotic, so we hope she will be back in full swing this weekend. Addie Kate loves her soft blankets and baby dolls close to her face. AK is in size 12 months…
I have the best job ever; stay at home mom with 2 precious girls. Although we have long days at times (marshmallows melted all over my new car, poop smeared in the bathroom, dogs eat the dinner off the table, vegetable pouch squeezed all over the car seat, throw up right before heading out the door… and the list continues), I wouldn’t trade it for anything!!!
We had a wonderful Christmas in Austin and in Breckenridge with family.
Addie Kate is almost 6 months! She weighs 17 lbs (70%) and height is 26.5″ (75%). She is babbling, learning to sit up, playing with her sister, and has started to eat table food. She is such a cuddle bunny, and she loves to pop her pacifer out and replace it with her thumb.
Jada Reese continues to be a “mini-me” as she cleans up more than anyone in our house. She is always looking after the dogs and her sister. She is potty trained as of today! I just told her that we were out of diapers…and she went with it. She has such a sweet spirit and tender heart!
We took Addie Kate on her first flight to California for Thanksgiving. She met Grandpa and Uncle Mike/Aunt Wes and her cousin Hudson for the first time. Jada Reese and Addie Kate also visited my aunt Lori and cousin Kimberly! We had a great trip to San Fransisco, Sacramento and Napa visiting family and celebrating the holiday.
Yes, Addie Kate is almost 5 months as I write this post…however, the photo was taken at 4 months old. At her 4 month check-up her stats were: 89% for height and 75% for weight (15 lbs 6 oz). She is definitely taking after Dave (he was a large baby). She loves to snuggle, grab her toys, look in the mirror, talk to her sister, and roll from her back to her stomach.
We enjoyed our happy hour at Duchman Family winery with a private tasting with family and friends. Then, we went next door for dinner. Happy Birthday Bill! xoxo
Jada Reese finally got her hair cut…it took a very long time to grow, so we wanted to wait as long as possilbe. She did great, and it looks adorable! Thank you Mrs. Elizabeth for making it fun and easy!
Sweet Berry Farms is located in Marble Falls, and it’s usually a strawberry farm. In the fall, they create a fun family friendly place to celebrate the holidays.
Jada Reese rode her first horse, and she loved it. She is still saying “more neigh neigh.” We went on a tractor ride, hay ride, fed goats, saw pumpkins, did the human maze, and picked beautiful flowers. She slept the whole way home! Addie Kate enjoyed the day out, but will have to wait until next year to join her sister in all the fun.
On another note, Dave and I are proud aunt/uncle to Jada Reese and Addie’s first cousin, Hudson Michael Alter. He was born in Napa, CA on Oct. 30th weighing 8lbs 5 oz. We will get to visit him in November.
I’ll post Halloween pictures tomorrow of the girls. Addie Kate is a lady bug and Jada Reese will be Snow White. Dave is looking forward to taking Jada Reese out for the first time.
On a sad note, Tiki (our 6 yr old boxer) does have aggressive cancer in her tongue. We love her dearly, and we are not looking forward to the next few weeks. Keep our family in your prayers while we make some tough doggie descisions.
The girls and I had a girls weekend in Dallas/Ft. Worth last weekend. We had a wonderful lunch at Blue Mesa with Mama Jane. Notice, Mama Jane is holding her great-great granddaughter… (Jada Reese’s baby doll!).
We met Major, Emily and Ben’s new puppy. Jada Reese and Addie finally found a puppy their size! The girls have on their precious matching outfits from the Garys.
I went to my 10 year High School Reunion. It was a blast! Hilary (on the right) has been one of my best friends since 2nd grade! Rachel (in the blue) is a distant cousin. And Allie and Courtney are dear friends. It was a fabulous weekend. Our babysitter, Ali, came by to hug and kiss Jada Reese. We got to see the Campbells for a short trip. James was sick, so we will have to make another trip soon, so Jada and James can have a playdate in the near future!
